Shalom Chime

Human-Centered Systems Leader | Compliance, Healthcare & AI

Welcome!

I’m Shalom Chime — a compliance and risk management leader, social systems builder, and Master of Health Administration student at the University of Illinois Chicago. I work at the intersection of healthcare, compliance, and responsible AI, building systems that stay both effective and human-centered.

What I Do

I help organizations navigate risk, regulatory compliance, and emerging technology without losing sight of the people those systems are meant to serve — whether that’s a child welfare program, a healthcare provider, or an AI governance framework.

Where It Started

My career began in Zambia, where I led and supported initiatives across child welfare, refugee services, and community development, developing a systems-level understanding of what it takes to translate policy into meaningful outcomes for people.

Building the Strategy

Earning my MPA at Indiana University sharpened that instinct into strategy. As Director of Risk Management at Lydia Home Association and Safe Families for Children, I built compliance programs that protected both people and organizations.

What I’m Building Now

As an MHA student at UIC, I’m focused on the next frontier: ensuring AI is deployed in healthcare responsibly — with transparency, bias awareness, and human judgment always in the loop.
